Nanny interview process

Welcoming someone into your home is a significant decision, and finding the right fit involves a thoughtful and thorough interview process.

Step 1: The Zoom Interview

We recommend an initial Zoom interview, to get a sense of the candidate's personality, communication style, and suitability for the role. Keep it brief, under 30 minutes. Nashville Nanny Agency will assist with coordinating availability to accommodate your busy schedule. (More Zoom interview tips here)

Step 2: The In-Person Interview

This is your opportunity to delve deeper into a candidate’s background, skills, and approach to the role. Plan for a longer interview, typically 60 minutes, to discuss specific scenarios, routines, and expectations. Some families prefer to meet for a cup of coffee outside of the home and some prefer an in-home interview, it’s totally up to you! (More in-person interview tips here)

Step 3: The Working Interview

A working interview or trial day allows you to observe their interaction with your children and evaluate their performance before making a final decision. Working interviews are typically reserved as the last step in the interview process to confirm your decision. Working interviews should be paid and can last from a few hours to a full day, depending on your preference and availability. (More information about working interviews here)

Once you've found the right candidate, we will walk you through extending an offer and outlining the terms of employment including hours, duties, compensation, and benefits.

Remember, finding the perfect nanny is a collaborative process that requires patience, communication, and trust. Take the time to get to know each candidate and trust your instincts. By following these steps, you'll be well on your way to finding the perfect addition to your family.

Happy interviewing!
